Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has repatriated 288 members of Myanmar’s security forces, including army men and Border Guard Police (BGP), to Myanmar who took refuge in Bangladesh amid the ongoing internal conflict in the country.

They were sent back from the BIWTA ghat in Cox’s Bazar around 6am on Thursday (April 25).

Earlier in the morning, the 288 members of Myanmar security forces, including BGP and army, were taken to BIWTA ghat in Cox’s Bazar city by 11 buses.

After that, around 6:30am, they were taken to the Myanmar Navy ship stationed in the Bay of Bengal. The ship will go to through St Martin coast.

This incident marks the second recent repatriation of Myanmar personnel to their homeland, following the February 16 return of 330 officials, including BGP members, army personnel, and customs officials, under stringent security measures.
