Rajshahi divisional transport strike called off

The indefinite transport strike enforced by Rajshahi Division Road Transport Owners-Workers’ Unity Council has been called off.
Aminul Islam, General Secretary of the Rajshahi Transport Owners Association, confirmed the matter on Saturday (December 3).
He said, “There was a meeting with Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner. In the meeting, it was assured to fulfill four demands including Nasimon, Karimon, auto-rickshaw ban on the highway within one month.”
Aminul Islam also said, “It has been informed that the rest of the demands will be met gradually. In view of this assurance, the transport strike has been called off.”
Mentionable, indefinite the strike was called from December 1 to press home their 10-point demand including banning CNG and battery-run auto-rickshaws on road.
