Number of Germany’s coronavirus cases surpasses 1 million

The number of coronavirus cases in Germany has exceeded one million. The country’s Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases reported on Friday (November 27).
In the last 24 hours, 22,806 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Germany, raising the total number of infected people in the country to 10,06,394.
Meanwhile, 426 people died in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of death at15,586.
Although coronavirus infection has recently increased in Europe, the growth rate is much lower in Germany. The number of new infections on Thursday was 842 fewer than that of the last week.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s tough stance on the coronavirus restriction has led to a low infection rate in the country, according to Reuters.
On November 2, a ‘mild lockdown was declared across the country, which meant bars, restaurants, theaters and fitness centers will remain closed. However, schools and shops will remain open.
At present, the maximum number of people for gathering at a time is 10, but from December 1, it will be reduced to 5.
