Failure in preventing coronavirus: 3 Paraguay ministers dismissed

Three ministers have been dismissed in Paraguay in response to violent protests over the government’s tackling of coronavirus outbreak, reports BBC.

Thousands of people took to the streets in protest of stealing millions of dollars that could have been used to deal with the health emergency amid coronavirus pandemic.

The country's president Mario Abdo Benítez said the education minister, women’s affairs minister and public works minister had been replaced.

Hospitals do not have the medicines needed to treat patients diagnosed with contracting coronavirus. The health workers said it was over. Opposition parties have blamed the right-wing government for widespread corruption. They have called for new elections.

Mentionable, Paraguay has registered more than 165,000 cases of coronavirus and about 3,200 deaths so far.
