Gold price increases

Jewellers have raised the price of gold by Tk 1,749 to Tk 78,262 a bhari on the local market due to abnormal rise in prices of dollar and other currencies in the global market. The new price will be effective from Wednesday (May 18).

The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Samity (BAJUS) made the announcement in a press release on Tuesday (May 17).

According to BAJUS, the price of 22-karat gold has been increased to Tk 78,262 a bhari (11.664 gram).

The price of 21-karat gold has been increased to Tk 74,708 a bhari and that of 18-karat gold to Tk 64,035 a bhari.

The price of traditional gold has been raised to Tk 52,196 a bhari.
