Kushtia Correspondent: Kushtia-4 constituency lawmaker Abdur Rauf stopped imported wheat from Brazil to load in Kumarkhali food warehouse, declaring the wheat as rotten and unfit to consumption.

Witnesses said that some 14 wheat laden truck came from Khulna divisional food warehouse and workers started to unload the trucks on Saturday around 12:00pm.

Later, the Member of the Parliament Abdur Rauf stopped warehousing the wheat with local peoples, following the complaints that the wheat as rotten and unfit to consumption.

Meanwhile, the local people became furious to the food warehouse staffs for bringing low quality and unfit to consumption wheat. At one stage, the wheat warehouse declared closed.

Following the matter, Abdur Rauf said that the low quality wheat won`t be allowed to enter into the food warehouse.

At least, without examination the wheat will not be permitted to enter into the Kumarkhali food warehouse, he added.

Kumarkhali acting food officer Shahnewaj refused to say anything in this regard.
