Gopalganj Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday morning paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his mazar at Tungipara.
After placing the wreaths, the Premier stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.
Sheikh Hasina later offered fateha and joined a munajat. She also recited from the holy Quran inside the mazar.
In the Munajat, prayers were offered seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu as well as other martyrs of the August 15 carnage.
Besides, prayers were offered seeking peace, progress and prosperity of the country as well as good health and long life of the Premier.
Awami League Presidium Member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, MP, Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu, PM`s Security Advisor Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddiq, Muhammad Faruk Khan, MP, Sheikh Helaluddin, MP, AL central leader SM Kamal Hossain, PM`s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim and Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil were present, among others.
Earlier, the Prime Minister arrived here on a daylong visit to open and lay the foundation stones of a number of development projects.
