EC releases draft voter list

The Election Commission (EC) has released a draft voter list, registering 14,65,046 fresh voters in 2019-2020.

EC Senior Secretary Md Alamgir told this to reporters at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon on Sunday (January 17).

He said, “In 2019-2020, 14,65,046 new voters have been registered in the updated voter list. Among them 9,01,983 are male voters while 5,63,046 are female and 15 third gender.

The EC secretary also said that if someone find any information wrong, he/she has to apply to amend this by January 31.

Till date, there are a total of 11,12,84,158 voters in the EC list. Among them, 5,63,84,513 are males, 5, 48,99,270 females and 375 from third gender.

Dead voters were not excluded from the draft list. The final voter list will be released on March 2, the EC secretary added.
