Dhaka Bank vault issue: Two officials land in jail

A Dhaka court sent two officials of Dhaka Bank Limited to jail in a case filed for missing an estimated amount of Tk3.77 crore in cash from the vault of the Bank’s Bangshal branch.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masud-ur-Rahman passed the order on Friday (June 18).
The two officials are – Dhaka Bank’s Bangshal branch senior officer and cash in-charge Rifat and Manager (Operation) Emran Ahmed.
Bangshal police station sub-inspector Pradip Kumar Sarker produced the before the court.
Earlier, an audit team of the bank found a total of Tk3,77,66,000 missing from the vault and submitted a statement to the branch manager in this regard.
