3G, 4G internet service restored

The 3G and 4G internet service have been restored on mobile phone after nearly nine hours of disruption. People of different districts of the country including the capital Dhaka informed that the 3G and 4G mobile data services have started to be activated after 4:00pm on Friday (October 15).

Earlier, cellphone users were largely unable to use the internet through mobile data as mobile internet speeds across the country were awfully slow since early Friday.

Earlier in the morning, Grameenphone, the country’s top mobile phone network provider, made a statement due to the internet service being shut down. It said, “Due to unavoidable reasons, our 4G and 3G services have been temporarily suspended. We are working with the concerned authorities to bring back 4G and 3G services. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.”
