However, the party has sought the President’s ordinance to reconstitute the Election Commission (EC) if it is not possible to enact law within short time.

Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader came up with the information while talking to newsmen after holding a dialogue with the President at Bangabhaban in the capital on Monday (December 20) evening.

Earlier, around 4:00 pm, an eight-member delegation led by Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader entered Bangabhaban in the capital to sit for a dialogue with the President.

Other members of the delegation include senior Co-chairman Anisul Islam Mahmud Chowdhury, Co-chairman ABM Rubul Amin Howlader, party’s secretary general Md Mujibul Haque Chunnu, Co-chairmen Kazi Firoj Rashid, Syed Abu Hossain Babla, Salma Islam and presidium member Moshiur Rahman Ranga.

The head of the state will hold talks gradually with other political parties registered with the Election Commission, ahead of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad polls.
