BNP leader Ishraque gets bail

Ishraque Hossain, BNP leader and former mayoral candidate of Dhaka South City Corporation election, has got bail.

Dhaka's Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Tofazzal Hossain granted his bail on Tuesday.

Ishraque’s lawyer Taherul Islam Touhid confirmed the news.

On April 6, he was arrested while distributing leaflets in protest against the price hike of daily essential commodities in the capital’s Motijheel area.

Police said Ishraque Hossain was arrested as he was wanted in a case filed with Motijheel police station over carrying out subversive activities in 2020.
