Rohingya youth detained at Hatia

Local detained a Rohingya youth and handed him over to police at Rahmat Bazar area under Hatia upazila in Noakhali.

The detainee was known as Md Abdul Hafez, 35, son of Amir Hossain of cluster no 15 of Ukhia camp in Cox’s Bazar.

Md Amir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hatia Police Station, confirmed the matter.

He said, “The Rohingya youth came to Rahmat Bazar of Hatia from Cox’s Bazar. Being informed by locals, police detained the youth and took him to the station. He is being returned to the Ukhia Rohingya camp after interrogation.”
