Tigers make it 2-0

Tigers beat Australia by 5 wickets in the second Twenty20 of the five-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur in Dhaka on Wednesday (August 4).

Bangladesh now lead the five-match series 2-0 as they clinched a 23-run victory in the first T20I at the same venue.

This is the first time Bangladesh have beaten Australia in successive games in any format.

Australia, thanks to Mitchell Marsh’s quick innings of 45 runs, set a 122-run target for Tigers in the second match.

In chase, Bangladesh surpassed the target just losing 5 wickets with remaining 8 balls left.

Tigers, thanks to Afif Hossain’s 37 runs, scored 123 runs for 5 wickets in 18.4 overs.

Afif Hossain (not out) smashed a brilliant innings of 37 runs off 35 balls which includes 5 boundaries and an over boundary.

Shakib Al Hasan scored 26 runs from 17 balls with 4 boundaries.

Spinner Mahedi Hasan hit 23 runs while wicket-keeper Nurul Hasan and Mohammad Naim scored 22 and 9 runs respectively.
