35.82 lakh cases pending: Law Minister

Parliament Correspondent: Law Minister Anisul Huq said, “The total number of the cases pending with the country's higher and lower courts is 35,82,347 till March 31 out of which 21,813 cases are pending with the Appellate Division and 5,06,664 cases with the High Court Division.”

The law minister made the disclosure while replying to a question from treasury bench MP Habiba Rahman Khan during the question answer session in parliament on Tuesday.

The minister said that the government has adopted measures like strengthening judicial service commission, increasing of judges and resolving the courtroom crisis with an aim to accelerate the trial proceedings.
