Economic Correspondent: Share trading at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended on Thursday, before the market goes for a 5-day Eid holiday from July 27.

With the end of this week, DSE have gone for a five-day holiday. The share transaction and the office of the stock exchange will remain closed from July 27 to July 31 on occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

The office of the stock exchange and the share trading, however, will resume on August 3 as the first two days of the next month fall in Friday and Saturday.

The office will remain open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm after the Eid holiday when the share transaction will be from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm as before Ramadan. Share transactions during Ramadan were being held between 10:30 am to 1:30 pm while the office was remained open from 9:30 am to 4 pm.


DSEX, the benchmark price index of DSE, finished Thursday 0.87 percent or 38.46 points higher at 4427.15 when the blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES followed suit over 1.0 percent gains. Both the indices closed up at 1626.51 and 1004.66 respectively.

The daily trade value, however, decreased to 7.10 crore shares, but the value increased to Taka 339.53 crore because of large-cap concentration of investors.
