A different look of Dhaka-Chattogram highway

Cumilla Correspondent: It is just a day left, subject to the sighting of moon, to celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslims.

Homebound people have already left the capital Dhaka to celebrate the festival with near and dear ones.

Though there was a fear of traffic congestion on Dhaka-Chattogram highway like previous years, it was seen a different look on the route. There is no passenger traffic crowd on the highway.

To keep the situation normal, Cumilla district and highway police are working on the route.

Though there is a ban imposed by the government on plying goods carrying vehicles on the highway before three days of Eid to avoid traffic chaos on the route, the decision was neglected. However, it did not affect traffic system on the highway.

On Friday morning, the Daudkandi-Chauddagram part of the busiest highway was approximately empty. However, sometimes, vehicles were seen to ply on slowly at Daudkandi toll plaza area due to delay of toll payments.

But people of the route were very much happy as they could enjoy a hassle-free journey during the Eid.
