BCL-Juba League-Shibir clash leaves 8 injured

At least eight people were injured as Shibir activists clashed with Chhatra League (BCL) and Juba League in front of AKG Sayedul Haque High School in Amanullahpur union of Begumganj in Noakhali on Sunday.

Local sources said that BCL and Juba League activists put barrier when shibir activists went to the school to distribute leaflets. Few minutes later, the shibir men attacked the Juba League and BCL activists with sharp weapons which triggered the clash, leaving eight people injured.

Meanwhile, at least 30 gun shots were heard during the clash. Later, critically injured union Juba League joint convener Banga Munshi was sent to Dhaka for better treatment.

Additional police super Md Shahjahan Sheikh said, additional police forces were deployed in the area.
