Japanese held with gold at Dhaka airport

Staff Correspondent: Customs officials at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport recovered 11 gold bars weighing around one kg and detained a Japanese on Friday midnight.

The Japanese landed at the airport from Singapore by a Regent RX flight around 12.45am.

When he was about to cross the green channel, custom officials challenged him, said the customs official.

After searching his body, the customs officials recovered 11 gold bars worth Tk 5.50 crore.
