Voting rights of citizens is an important issue in every state or society. And there is no doubt that the voters are much more careful about their rights now.

Though, all the sides try to maintain harmony but, an excitement always prevails in every election. All parties have the responsibility to ensure the voting environments so that, the voters can easily go to voting centres. The election commission also should make a level playing field for candidates and there is no alternative of it. Besides, it`s also important that everyone will follow the electoral code of conduct.

If everyone follows the electoral code of conduct, candidates and their supporters show patient then the ongoing election will be much more fair and acceptable. The three city corporation elections of Dhaka and Chittagong are very important in the political point of view and in the eyes of citizens of these cities. Even, people of the whole country took the election as national level election because through the election an analysis will come out about acceptance and popularity of the political parties.

The aspirants of city polls promised their local voters about a modern city which may inspire the voters but they are very much cautious. It can be expected that considering their own judgment, the voters will take a right decision.

The members of Fair Election Monitoring Alliance (FEMA) are working in the polling centres as election observers. Side by side, a huge number of law enforcers are deployed in the cities to ensure a peaceful election. A demand was raised to deploy army in city polls but, the Election Commission (EC) did not respond in that connection. EC decided to use army indirectly and steps were taken that way.

My vote is my right. It’s a popular slogan in the country. The voters visited the polling centers to vote their desired candidates.
