Inflation rises in July

Economic Correspondent: Annual inflation of the country picked up in July for a second straight month, led by a rise in non-food prices.
Planning minister AHM Mustafa Kamal made the disclosure on Tuesday.
Consumer prices in July rose 6.36 percent from a year earlier, accelerating from 6.25 percent in June, Mustafa Kamal said.
He said the average inflation of the 2014-15 fiscal year was 6.41 percent which is lowest in last three years. The government’s target was to keep the inflation rate under 6.50 percent and the government is successful in doing that, Kamal added.
