We expected such verdict: AG

Staff Correspondent:  Expressing satisfaction at the Supreme Court (SC) verdict that has upheld death penalty for BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam has said, “We expected such kind of verdict”.

At a press briefing on the Supreme Court premises on Wednesday, he said that the government would initiate process of execution after receiving the full verdict of the court.

Earlier in the day, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court upheld a war tribunal’s death sentence to BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury for committing crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
