Secretariat Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal urged all to restrain from writing against religion terming it as criminal offence.

The Minister made the assertion while addressing newsmen after a meeting US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Desai Biswal in capital on Thursday noon.

He said that unnatural sex and writing against religion are criminal offence.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, "I clearly said that there is no existence of Islamic State (IS). The country is fully under control of the government."

“Bloggers should restrain from hurting religious sentiments,” the minister said. “It is a criminal offence when bloggers hurt religious sentiments of the public.”

According to what he said, the issue of murder of LGBT magazine editor Xulhaz Mannan, press freedom in Bangladesh, terrorism and US-Bangladesh partnership came up during the meeting.
