Bangladesh to export shrimps to Russia

Staff Correspondent, DHAKA, Feb 26: Bangladesh is going to export shrimps to Russia very soon as both the countries have agreed to resolve their differences regarding its export.

The decision was taken at a meeting held between the Russian Ambassador Alexander A Nikolaev and Fisheries and Livestock Minister Mohammad Sayedul Haque at the latter`s office at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Tuesday.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Russia Dr. S M Saiful Haque and Director General of the Directorate of Fisheries Syed Arif Azad were present on the occasion.

It can be here mentioned that in 2009, Russia restricted exports of Bangladesh shrimps to its country and allowed only four particular organizations from Bangladesh to export shrimps and other frozen food to Russia.
