Ninth wage board to be formed soon

Staff Correspondent: Mir Akram Uddin, Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Information, said the ninth wage board will be formed soon.

He said on Wednesday, "The ministry has nearly completed all preparations for the formation of ninth wage board with positive role from the very beginning."

Information Ministry held meetings several times with the partners and wanted representatives from wage board chairman and organisations concerned for forming ninth wage board since October last year, according to the ministry.

Meanwhile the Law Ministry has proposed Supreme Court's retired Justice Md Nizamul haque as the chairman of the board. Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), Bangladesh Federal Union of Newspaper Press Workers and Bangladesh Newspaper Workers Federation have also proposed representatives.

News Papers Owners Association of Bangladesh (NOAB) will nominate its representative soon. After getting the name of NOAB delegate, activities of ninth wage board formation will be started.
