4 suspected robbers lynched in Narayanganj

Four suspected robbers were killed in a lynching in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj on early Monday (March 18).

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Local sources said 10-12 members of a robber gang were taking preparation to commit robber in a beel in Bagri village around 1:30am. Sensing their presence, locals informed villagers using microphone of mosque. Meanwhile, villagers surrounded the suspected robbers and gave them a good beating, leaving two people dead on the spot.

On information, police rushed to the spot and took three of the injured to Narayanganj general hospital. Later, they were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where two more died under treatment.

Confirming the matter, Sonargaon police station Officer-in-Charge (Operation) Mahsin Mia said additional police forces were deployed in the village.
