Death toll increases to 6 in Moulvibazar electrocution

The death toll in the Moulvibazar electrocution incident increased to six, after a victim, Sonia Aktar, 12, undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, died on Wednesday morning.

Earlier, the victim was taken to Osmani Medica College Hospital first. Later, she was shifted to Dhaka for better treatment.

Moulvibazar Palli Bidyut Samity general manager ABM Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter.

Following the incident, district administration and Palli Bidyut Samity formed three separate committee. The committee were asked to submit their report within next three working days.

On Tuesday (March 26), five members of a family died from electrocution at Juri upazila in Moulvibazar district. The incident happened at the house owned by Mokhles Miah at East Goalbari in Goalbari union of the upazila around 5 am.
