Two burnt in Gazipur gas-leak fire

Two workers have suffered burns in a fire from a gas-leak in a building in Gazipur sadar on Sunday noon (April 15).

The injured are known as Md Farhan Hasan, a student of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU), and Khairul Islam, caretaker of the building.

Quoting locals, Md Abdus Samad, senior station officer at Joydeb fire station said the fire broke out at the ground flood of the eight-story building around 1:30pm. Meanwhile, locals managed to douse the blaze and sent the injured to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital.

Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Rafiul Karim Rafi said that apart from the gas cylinder, there was a Titus gas line in that room. Details can be said after investigation.
