21 sailors to return home by sea not air

The most of sailors of the Bangladeshi flag carrier MV Abdullah have decided to return home by sea not air. Only two of them will return home by air.

Meherul Karim, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KSRM Group confirmed the matter on Wednesday (April 17).

He said that the ship is now heading to the Port of United Arab Emirates after getting release from Somali pirates. The ship was expected to reach Dubai on April 20. However, it will arrive there on April 22 due slow speed.

After completing formalities of unloading goods at Dubai port, the much-talked MV Abdullah will start its journey for Chattogram port. It may take a month to reach Chattogram.

21 sailors of the 23 of the ship have expressed their interest to return home on their ship. The remaining two sailors will return to Bangladesh by plane, he added.
