Extremist leader shot dead in Khulna

Staff Correspondent, Khulna: A leader of the extremist outfit "Purba Bangla Communist Party" was shot and bombed to death by miscreants near Bejeredanga rail station of the district's Fultola upazila on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Jony Mollah, 32, son of Yousuf Mollah of Dhakuria village of the upazila.
Asaduzzaman Munshi, Officer-in-Charge (OC), confirmed the news.
He said members of rival group fired and bombed on Jony while he was talking with several men in front of Bejerdanga Tarun Sangha, leaving him dead on the spot."
"Jony was listed terrorist of police. He was accused in eight cases including robbery filed with Fultola Police station," he added.
The body was sent to Khulna Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.
