BIWTA declares Shimulia ferry ghat suspended

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) on Friday evening declared Shimulia ferry ghat suspended due to erosion.

BIWTA also requested all to use alternative route.

Shafayet Ahmed, manager of Shimulia ferry ghat, confirmed the development.

He said, ‘A part of construction yard of Padma Bridge went into water due to erosion. Some goods also washed away. So, the ghat was declared suspended.’
