40 injured in Gopalganj clash

At least 40 people were injured in a clash between two groups of people over occupying a tempo-stand at Gopalganj Sadar upazila.

Police said, there was dispute between Sujon Sheikh and Sentu Sheikh of Ghoshchar Uttarpara village centering a tempu-stand. Following the dispute, supporters of two group locked into the clash with lethal weapons.

Later, on information, police rushed to the spot fired 15 rounds of shot-gun bullets and brought the situation under control. Meanwhile, 10 houses and shops were vandalized.

During the clash, five policemen also received bullet injuries.
