‘Train to go Kolkata directly over Padma Bridge’

Railway Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujon has said that people can directly go to Kolkata by train over the Padma Bridge by 2024.

He was speaking after the official inauguration of the Netrokona big station platform modernization programme on Friday (October 15) noon.

The Minister said, “Every meter gauge line across the country will be upgraded to double line and broad gauge line. Besides, the railway line of Mohanganj will be upgraded through Chhatak of Sunamganj. This will facilitate the communication of Sylhet with Netrokona.”
