Earlier, the protesters briefed media in the afternoon. They said that they would stop any scope of freely entrance for someone to VC’s residence.

Yasir Sarkar, a protesting student, said, “Our classmates have been on hunger strike for five days and are on the verge of death. But he (VC) is relaxing in the residence. We will not let him to do that anymore. Anyone can no longer enter the VC’s residence.”

He further said, “Mass hunger strike is underway. Four more newly joined the strike on Saturday (January 22) night. We had been just waiting for talks to Education Minister. Since the talks are not gaining momentum, we will continue our hunger strike. We want to see what is mostly important- VC or our life.”

Mentionable, twenty-four SUST students went on hunger strike until death on Wednesday (January 19) demanding resignation of VC.
