Police arrest fugitive accused in disguise of farmer

Police members nabbed a fugitive accused in disguise of famers. For this, they put on lungi, undervest and tied nun’s veiling on waists to show them like farmers.

They arrested the accused from a paddy field at Goalghata of Botiaghata in Khulna on Saturday (March 26) noon.

The arrestee was known as Md Selim Sheikh, son of Abdur Rahman Sheikh of Goalghata village.

ASI Golam Rasul of Botiaghat Police Station said, “Md Selim Sheikh was sentenced to a three-month jail in a case filed by his first wife on June 7, 2021. Since, he was fugitive. But police began efforts to arrest him after receiving the warrant.”

He further said, “We came to know that Selim Sheikh was working in a paddy field. I along with constable Shariful conducted a drive and arrested him easily in disguise of farmers.”
