Garment worker allegedly hacked to death at Ashulia

A garment worker has allegedly been hacked with rod to death at Ashulia in Savar, the outskirts of the capital Dhaka.

The deceased was known as Rakibul Islam Uzzal, 24, son of Rafiqul Islam of Chandanbaisha under Sariakandi upazila in Bogura. He used to work in a apparel factory in EPZ area.

Rakibul died around 10:00 am on Monday (July 4) while undergoing treatment at Enam Medical College and Hospital, in Savar.

Hospital official Yousuf Ali confirmed the matter.

It was learned Rakibul was called over mobile phone at Bhadail Madhyapara of Ashulia on Friday (July 1) and hacked with rod.

Savar Model Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Zahidul Islam said, “It was informed us from the hospital. We are currently going to recover the body. Steps would be taken after the family files complaint.”
