68 bullets recovered in Brahmanbaria

Police have recovered 68 bullets from underground of a school building at Nabinagar upazila in Brahmanbaria.

The bullets were found while removing soil after demolishing and abandoned old school building of Kajlia Government Primary School upazila Shibpur union of the upazila on Friday (January 27).

It was learned that the abandoned old school building of Kajlia Government Primary School has been demolished. The bullets were found by local people while lifting the soil with an excavator for the construction of a new building. Later they reported the matter to the administration. Police reached the spot and recovered the bullets.

According to the local residents, during the war of independence, freedom fighters were sheltered here. Maybe they buried the bullets here.

Shibpur police outpost in-charge Sheikh Kamal said local people found 68 rounds of LMG bullets and informed the administration. The bullets were recovered on the spot. The bullets are believed to have been left by freedom fighters during the Liberation War.
