Proposal to open 25% primary schools at district level

All educational institutions have been closed for a long time due to coronavirus across the country. In this situation, the field level teachers and officials have advised to open 25 percent government primary schools at district level.

The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has started exchanging views with teachers and officials at the field level after receiving an announcement from the Cabinet Division to take a decision on the opening of educational institutions to their respective ministries.

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain on Tuesday (September 22) said, “We have exchanged views with teachers and officials of several districts on how to reopen primary schools across the country. They have offered different types of proposals. Many have suggested opening 25 percent of district-level schools in the first instance. A meeting will be held with the officials of the ministry on September 27 in light of suggestions came from discussion with teachers and officials of other districts. After that, a meeting will be held with the concerned experts to decide when schools will be reopened considering the situation.”
