ACC in search for wealth information of 45 DGHS staffers

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched an investigation into the corruption and illegal wealth of 45 officers and staff of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Against them, there is an allegation of embezzling crores of Taka and laundering money abroad through unlimited corruption by running a syndicate.

Notices were served to them seeking their wealth information for that reason.

Regarding the issue, ACC secretary Md Dilwar Bhakt said, “We formed an investigation team in 2019 based on an allegation that a group of officers and staff of DGHS are involved in corruption by running a syndicate. We are now investigating and inquiring 45 officers and staff of DGHS including recently arrested driver Malek.”

The anti-graft body on September 16 served notice to Malek and 11 other officers and staff of DGHS seeking their wealth information.

A team of ACC led by deputy director Shamsul Alam is investigating and inquiring the whole affair.
