Death warrant issued for ex-State Minister Kaiser

The International Crimes Tribunal on Thursday issued a death warrant against convicted war criminal former Jatiya Party State Minister Syed Mohammad Kaiser in a case filed for committing crimes against humanity in 1971.
Registrar of International Crimes Tribunal Syed Ahmed said a death warrant has been issued against convicted war criminal Syed Mohammad Kaiser. The death warrant warming up with a red clothe has been sent to Central Jail and other concerned departments.
Earler, the Supreme Court’s Appellate Division released full copy of verdict upholding the death penalty for the war criminal in connection with wartime offences.
The Appellate Division upheld the death sentence awarded to former Jatiya Party State Minister Syed Mohammad Kaiser in a case filed for committing crimes against humanity in 1971.
An appeal bench headad by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain pronounced the verdict.
On December 23 in 2015, International Crimes Tribunal-2 sentenced Kaisar to death along with 22 years in jail for his role as Rajakar commander and Shanti Committee member in Habiganj during the war. Later on January 19 in 2016, he appealed against the verdict.
