ACC flies petition seeking bail cancellation of Bazlur Rashid

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a petition with the court seeking cancellation of bail granted to suspended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Prisons Bazlur Rashid, in connection with a case filed for accumulating illegal wealth.

ACC lawyer Mahmud Hossain Jahangir filed the petition with the court of Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 Justice Iqbal Hossain on Sunday (November 1).

Mahmud Hossain Jahangir said, “Hiding information, the accused Bazlur Rashid secured bail on November 29. We have filed petition seeking cancellation of the bail. The court fixed November 22 for next hearing in the case.”

Earlier on August 26, Investigation Officer also ACC deputy director Nasir Uddin submitted charge sheet against Bazlur Rashid for amassing Tk 3.08 crore beyond known sources of income.
