The government is going to enforce an all-out lockdown for one-week with stricter rules from April 14. But, the country's stock markets will remain open during the lockdown.
Government notification will be issued soon in this regard, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) confirmed.
The transaction time will depend on the transaction schedule of the banks. However, the transection schedule would be shorter than the banks working schedule.
BSEC Executive director also spokesperson Mohammad Rezaul Karim said, if the banking transection continues during ‘all out’ lockdown then stock markets will run for the sake of stock holders.
Earlier, Bangladesh government imposed a 7-day countrywide lockdown, starting from Monday, primarily as Covid-19 situation has taken a very dangerous turn here.
The authorities of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) and two other stock exchanges advised investors to adopt digital methods (mobile phones, e-mail, online, apps) for the transaction of the stock market.
