Hefazat leader Shakhawat, Manzurul remanded for 21 days each

A Dhaka court has placed Hefazat-e-Islam’s assistant secretary general Mufti Shakhawat Hossain Razi and Maulana Manzurul Islam on a 21-day remand each in three separate cases.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid passed the order on Wednesday (April 21).

Earlier, they were remanded for five days each in a case filed with paltan Police Station over Shapla Chattar mayhem 2013.

On Wednesday, police sought fresh 10-day remand for them in every of three separate cases of which two were filed with Matijheel Police Station while other with Paltan Police Station.

After hearing, the court granted a 7-day remand for them in every of the cases.

A team of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested them from Lalbagh on April 14 evening.
