Discussions going on to get second doze of vaccine: Minister

Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said that discussions are going with Russia, China, United Kingdom, United States and other countries to get the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

He made the remarks while talking to journalists at the Secretariat on Monday.

“We have got only 70 lakh dozes of vaccine out of 3 crore from India. We are trying to get rest of those”, the minister said.

He said the trend of using masks among people has increased. People have become much more aware than before. As a result, the infection has reduced. Many have become emotional in this situation and have gone home. We request them not to return to Dhaka before the end of the lockdown.

The minister said the rate of infection increased a lot. The rate has now come down due to various steps taken by the government.
