Bangladeshi`s car stolen in broad daylight in New York

An incident of theft occurred in broad daylight in New York, USA.
The incident took place at around 6:00pm local time on Saturday (June 12) in front of Sterling Bank at the corner of 63rd Street and Broadway in Jackson Heights.
It is learned that the owner of the car, Mohammad Manik Islam, left his Toyota Camry (DXL 8635) in an emergency. Meanwhile, a thief tried to flee with the car when the owner went to fetch food from a shop. Sensing this, Malik Islam rushed to the car and grabbed the collar of the mugger's shirt but the snatcher pushed him and fled the scene with the car. Later, the victim informed the police.
Police are monitoring the car. Police have assured that they will be able to return the car to the owner only if they can arrest the car hijacker. Islam said he alone tried to apprehend the criminal.
Manik Islam said that many Bangladeshis were standing around but did not come forward to help him. Islam also mentioned that the hijacker was an Asian one.
