Why Covid deaths, infections are increasing in Bangladesh?

The number of Covid-19 deaths and infections decreased across the world in the last 24 hours. According to the worldometer, 6,859 people lost their lives while 4,27080 got infected.

However, the picture in Bangladesh is totally different. Bangladesh recorded the highest single-day deaths from COVID-19 at 247, bringing the overall death toll to 19,521 in the last 24 hours.

Lots of steps like strict lockdown, transport shut, penalties for disobeying any regulation, were taken but the death toll and single-day infection rate are still rising here in the country.

The health ministry, health decorate and experts are concerned about the issue. Now the main question is -why the number of deaths and infections are still rising?

Dr. M R Khan Shishu Hospital and Institute of Child Health in Mirpur said the infection and mortality are on the rise across the country due to the Delta variant. The immune system of the body is not working. There are no new suggestions to prevent infection. There is no alternative to vaccines and health rules.

LabAid Hospital’s professor Manzur Rahman said, avoiding health rules, people left Dhaka in the last two Eid festivals. The whole nation is now facing the impact of it now. Everyone needs to reduce movement.

Mugdha Medical College Hospital’s director Dr. Asim Kumar said delta variant doesn’t care rich and poor. The situation becomes worse as city dwellers went to villages. If the infection rate drops only then, the death rates will drop. So, everyone must maintain health rules.
