Chawk Bazar polythene factory fire doused

A fire that broke out at a polythene factory in Old Dhaka’s Chawk Bazar area on Monday (August 15) has been brought under control following an effort of more than two hours.
Ten firefighting units brought the blaze under control at 2:20 pm.
Khaleda Yeasmin, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters, confirmed the development.
Earlier, the fire originated around 12pm at the factory at Kamalbagh area under Lalbagh police station.
The reason behind the blaze and extent of damages caused by it could not be known immediately.
