‘232 infected with AIDS in last year in Bangladesh’

Health Minister Zahid Maleque said that some 947 people were infected with AIDS in the country from November 2021 to October this year. Of them, 232 people died.
The minister said this while addressing a discussion at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Thursday (December 1).
He said, so far 9,708 people have been identified with the HIV virus in the country. However, the actual number of AIDS patients in the country is believed to be more than 14 thousand.
Zahid Maleque said, the infection rate of AIDS in the country is 0.01% and the government wants to bring it down to zero by 2030. That's why everyone should come forward.
