Cabinet body okays proposals to import crude oil

The Cabinet Committee on Public Purchase on Thursday (November 4) approved a proposal to import 16 lakh tonnes of crude oil from foreign sources.
Chaired by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, the virtual meeting was attended by its members, mostly senior ministers.
Committee members, senior secretaries of the cabinet division, secretaries of the concerned ministries, and top officials attended the meeting.
Md Shamsul Arefin, additional secretary to cabinet division briefed reporters after the meeting.
He said, under government to government (G2G) project, Bangladesh will import the crude oil from two gulf countries -- Saudi Arabia and the UAE --for the year 2022.
