Tea-seller’s headless body recovered in Khagrachhari

Police recovered headless body of a tea-seller from a roadside at Chhoto Merung Hajachhara of Dhighinala in Khagrachhari on Friday (June 10).

According to locals, they noticed the body on the roadside in the morning and informed the matter to police. Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. Later, locals identified the body as tea-seller Jahangir Alam, son of late Shafiullah of the area.

Deceased’s wife Khadiza said, “Jahangir sued to return home from tea stall every day. But he did not return on the last night. We have three daughters. Who will look after us now?”

Jahangir changed his profession and started tea-selling nine months ago. Earlier, he had worked at hotel of Alauddin Sarder. Police took several neighbours including Parvez, Osman Gani and Alauddin for interrogation.

AKM Piyar Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dighinala Police Station, confirmed the matter.

He said, “Though the body was found, the head is still out of tracing.”
